Mods, I'm not sure if this is in the right place so feel free to move.

I have a friend who is in Peru at the moment and I would like to send a parcel over to her with some treats from home. Has anyone found a reasonably priced way of sending stuff to South America? An Post seems to be looking for ridiculous amounts of money!

In the end, an post turned out to be the best and most reliable way. Don't send boxes- use padded envelopes instead and keep them under a kilo each. Any more and they tend to go 'missing' at customs. And don't put in any money- that definitely gets lost en route! It can take up to a month for packets to get there so you'd need to be sending them by the end of next week.

Thanks for the info, Im going to be sending a box around 40cm X 20cm with about 20cm depth, its looking like its gonna be the bones of €100 to send but I'll risk it, they are gonna be in Cusco which I believe is along the Inca trail so hopefully it will get to her as I will be posting it to her hostel, thanks again!
