    Hi everyone.

I'm looking to rent a car in 2 weeks time. I am 21 years old and I've been looking around and could find some rentals that would allow me to. I was just wondering if you guys would know the 'best' option that I have.

I found sixt and dooley but found sixt is cheaper. I still have to call sixt though as I don't understand the full license bit on their terms. It says "The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 5 years." So does the learner permit count? I'm a little bit confused with this sentence because if I remember correctly, isn't the minimum age for taking the full license exam 17? That's a maximum of 4 years license held then if so, right?:confused:

    No it doesn't
I use dooleys now I'm older than you but when I asked about under 25s it was two years and they require you take their insurance

I have always found them excellent to deal with

Cool. At least I have a definite fallback with dooleys. I checked on sixt first though as they were like 15 euro cheaper per day because they only charged 30euro per day for young drivers compared to the 45 of dooleys. I'll call sixt tomorrow to ask about this 5 years license held thingy.

    Thanks a lot. :)

Just contacted sixt. They insist that you have to have held your full license for 5 years. Isn't that a bit stupid? For that to be the case, you must've taken your full license exam on your 17th birthday and gotten a full license on the same day and then tomorrow should be your birthday in order to have a full license held for 5 years @ 21 years old.:confused:

Might as well just said minimum of 22 years old to hire from them =.=
