Hi, the other day I was caught speeding by the Gardai. How long does it usually take for the letter to arrive in the post confirming this? Thanks in advance

    It's usually around 3 weeks I think.

    Can it?

    I wouldn't know too well

I am, after all, the perfect driver, ha!

up to 6 months less 56 days to issue a summons.
(28 days to pay €80, another 28days to pay €120)

after that, its forgotten about (although the summons could arrive at any time once it was issued within the 6 months of the offence)

    clear as mud !

Some cameras in certain locations are known for coming late.. But I got mine exactly 2 weeks after I got caught by a GoSafe van. My friend got pulled by a guard and got his exactly two weeks later aswell.

AFAIK they can come up to 6 months after they "catch" you, but I have never heard of anyone getting their notice that late :)

I got caught for driving without due consideration recently. Letter arrived exactly 2 weeks later.
