Had a good look at this crossover and it really looks like the low cost range rover evoke. It's s real nice looking crossover

The new owner of Ssangyong own both jag and land rover...

I had a rexton for years and always liked it..

    List is 21600 for a 1.6 diesel....

    Anyways would love people's thoughts...

Had a good look at this crossover ...

Where? I thought it had just been unveiled in China?

And for clarification there is no JLR connection as the company is owned by Mahindra & Mahindra from India.

Good look, meaning watched the review videos online, read some review, lots of them on YouTube..

I'm really looking forward to seeing it.. it seems Bill.Cullen is getting it and avail on pre order.. But prices are pretty good for what it is...

It's not on the website so how do you know the prices?

It's hard to tell if it's a great car, great design or any good from nice flash promo videos or reviews. Can you point me in the direction of a review of the European model?

It'll do great in China up against the MG GS.

In fairness to OP I've just gone searching the intertweb for reviews and it seems to be getting respectable reviews for a first effort made under Mahindra. I'd doubt I'd buy one and I doubt it'll sell much in Ireland tbh.

In consumers minds they're on a par with the Duster which is at least cheap, proven and functional.

    Horrible.

The stumbling block with Ssangyong is that even when they have a decent model the pricing is just stupid imho, it could be heavily discounted by now but when I looked at the pricing last year a Korando was more expensive than a diesel Qashqai. The Korando is actually a surprisingly nice thing but it's out of its league trying to battle with a Qashqai on price.

If this Tivoli thing was priced to match the Dacia Duster or be in that general area they would sell reasonably well I'm sure but €21600 or anywhere near that is ludicrous for something which will depreciate at a terrifying rate and will be a relative unknown in the reliability stakes.

I've had the displeasure of driving lots of SsangYongs over the years through work and the lack of quality and the bad image they have in people's eyes will take a long time to go away, especially with the way they're doing things. The only reasonable thing in the range at the minute is the Korando, everything else is poo.
