BE VERY CAREFUL when buying something big from ALDI IRELAND. I bought a halogen oven, which broke after 2 1/2 months. I took it back to the ALDI where Id bought it, they said they couldnt repair/refund/replace as it was over 60 days since Id bought it. They gave me a numer in UK to ring.
I phoned the number, eventually someone answered and I was told 'post the item back to us in Durham, England and we will refund purchase price and postage'.
I went to the post office and found out it would be 45 euros to post, phoned ALDI again who said 'thats fine, send it back with receipt and receipt for postage and we will refund you for both'
I did that, now 3 months, and 5 phonecalls later I still haven't heard a word from them apart from' its being dealt with' when I phone them.
    Dreadful service.

You are entitled to return faulty goods to the place of purchase regardless what they try to tell you.
In the last couple of years some shops will try to get you to contact the manufacturer/supplier directly and even some manufacturers want you to deal with then directly. You are entitled to return the object and if it is not repaired within a specific period (which I cannot remember at the mo) you are entitled to a replacement.

Halogen is a bit old hat these days especially on new electric cars. Led should be standard on them, or HIDs.

You've posted it in the wrong section. Ask a mod to move it to consumer issues.

I put it under buying? As in warning people about buying things from ALDI that were expensive to post to the UK. OK will do that though, consumer issues might be better.

Aldi sell motors these days? Either way, I would have thought posting a motor to the UK would cost a lot more than than €45. Sure it costs 68 cent for a little envelope ;)

Might be worth sending a PM to get a mod to move the thread. :)
