    Hi all

My key fob for the car isn't fully working. The rubber buttons are worn down especially the Close button. I can open the car using the fob but can't close it. Can I get a replacement case somewhere (not a replacement key fob as that costs a lot). I have seen youtube videos where just the case has been replaced and it costs only 10eur or so.

    Thanks

I have similar problem on my primera key as its common with these on micras also.

I bought one on ebay from china and it was a rubbish copy that didnt even have the clips to hold it together.

I also need a similar fix.

Should be plenty on ebay, I got the whole key for about €10 and i was able to take the blank blade out and programme the new fob to my car.

I replaced the key fob for my Golf by buying one off eBay that was a couple of quid. Transferred the circuit board over and carefully transferred the little immobiliser pill as well, stuck in a new battery and used my old blade for a while. Eventually got a new one cut by another guy on eBay who does it by sending him a picture of your current key blade. All in all I got a completely new, perfect working fob for less than £20. Not bad when the dealerships and independent places want to charge you £100+! Rip off merchants, especially when they use the same eBay sources parts, I've seen it with my own eyes!
