    Hey everyone.

My fiance and I are looking to buy our first kits and I am looking for semi-decent ones out there and I've also googled "(kit name) problems" and it seems like both have some sort of problem with them.

We're looking to get two iSticks, 50w and 30w. I mainly chose the 50w for the battery capacity and she chose the 30w because she wants a nice 'cute' one(women:rolleyes:). The clearomisers I chose were the Kanger Subtank Plus for myself and the Aspire Nautilus Mini for her. Then the googling around comes in. As most of the results, they all showed that there's a known problem with the coils of the Naut and that the Naut is also a little outdated compared to the subtank and others. So I thought I should then just recommend the subtank mini for her. But I then googled the subtank and it seems there's a known problem with the o-rings in that one.

Are these problems corrected already? Is there other ones you guys could recommend? I am looking at thebestshop.eu and I would like to buy from there to maximise the 10% off discount and free shipping. Would be buying tomorrow if everything is settled tonight so all help will be considered. Thanks a lot :)

I'm pretty sure you'll find problems for aby mass market product if you google like that. I've had no problems at all with my subtank mini making it the most reliable tank/clearomiser I've ever owned. The Nautilus mini was very reliable for me too, but a lot of people report above average amounts of "dud coils." I'm gonna throw you a curveball here.

Have you tried a subtank? It's a very full on experience, nothing like smoking, it's more suited to doing direct lung inhales rather than taking it in to your mouth and then inhaling. I'd want to try one before buying one to make sure it suits you. Another curveball, there is a tank that vapes almost identical to the nautilus mini for less than half the price. It's made by eleaf (the makers of the istick) and is called the GS Air. It's only a tenner or so, there is one disadvantage that most won't consider a problem at all. The airflow is controlled by a screwdriver rather than twist control. Most people set an airflow and never touch it again, so don't let that put you off. It can handle up to 20w whereas the nautilus mini will start to burn from upwards of 14w.

The istick 30w is a great little device which should be reliable. The 50w had reported problems of auto firing and then catching fire. These have completely tailed off recently so my take on it was that was a bad batch. I own both and I've had no problems with either of the ones I currently have, but I did have to send my original 50w back for replacement because it started refusing to fire. If I was in your position I'd probably get an istick 30w and GS Air tank each. But if you can try a subtank and like it then you could get the subtank instead of the GS Air.

    Hope that helps!

Just to give you an idea of sizes, the attached picture is the Subtank mini on an istick 50w. I personally find the mini quite large, the plus is much bigger!

I agree with Richie, get two 30w iSticks and two GS airs and don't turn it up past 20 watts.

Good juice is arguably more important starting out so don't cheap out on that side of things.

I will try and find a shop that sells a subtank so I can try it out.

I would really like the battery capacity of the 50w though. I will research more about the auto fire issue, etc and will think about it. Thanks a lot. :)

Regarding the GS air, I will ask her if she would like it. One of the reasons I looked straight at these more known products is first because I liked the looks. I mean, I know they won't last forever but they're something that I would be using for a long time and I would like something better than a 'plain' look if you know what I mean. So if there was another choice I'll be happy to look into it :)

One of the reasons why I liked the subtank Plus is because of the size :P I have huge hands :P

Did my reply to Richie before I saw your post. Wow. 2 posts straight away for the 30w and GS airs. Makes me consider them now. Thank you for your input. :)

Are the 'thebestshop' liquids decent enough for trying out flavours? Wouldn't want to spend too much on stuff I don't like. And I've never even tried vaping before so this will be the first time.

Their expensive ones are good, the cheaper ones I wouldn't be sure of tbh, don't get dekang or hangsen anyway.

Liqua apple is quite nice and pretty cheap, their virginia tobacco is supposed to be nice too.

Anyway a 10ml bottle should last you 2 days at least and most irish sites have next day delivery so you'll be able to get new juice no problem.

Where abouts do you live LL? People here will usually be able to tell you a good shop where you can try out variety of liquids, probably a subtank too.

Coolock. Wouldn't mind anywhere in town you could recommend as I will be in town or near enough anyway tomorrow.

Well, just asked the other half. She said the GS air is a little too plain for her. Any other choices out there? Wouldn't mind spending a little more if we have to as long as it's expected to work properly. :)

Call to e-smokeireland in palmerstown? They will go through all the options with you and let you try juices, they have a great range.

http://www.e-smokeireland.eu/category-s/1841.htm ... the address is on that page.

Or you could try cigatec in Dún Laoghaire if its handier, http://www.cigatec-ireland.com/

Cool. I'll go to palmerstown tomorrow. Any particular names of stuff I should look for in terms of clearomisers? The other half wasn't very interested in the GS air :(

Tbh they're all metal and glass, none of them look too exciting.

Maybe she'd like an eGrip, I have one and it's a neat little thing and looks good imo. Battery and clearomiser all in one unit.

I would actually agree with you apart from some exceptions but she really really doesn't agree with that statement at all :P She liked the nautilus mini but again, there's a problem with it. So for her they are quite different :P I'll take her to the shop and see if she'd like the subtank mini.

Thanks a lot for all your help guys. All really appreciated. Please do post if you have any more suggestions. Thanks again :)

The Nautilus mini problems wouldn't be enough to rule it out as a choice I wouldn't think. Just that you get equivalent service with the GS Air, if she doesn't mind spending the extra on the mini for looks then it'll likely see her right. One benefit of the nautilus is you can get steel tanks of a cage to protect them from drops, she might like the look of one of them.

Really? Have you had experience regarding the coil problems? I mean, we wouldn't want to have to spend much right after buying the whole lot just because the coils weren't working well.

If you're in town there are 3 shops I frequent.
eCirette on Talbot St might be th ehandiest coming from Coolock, its beside Tesco express.
Up on Capel St you have the Vape Caffe, which is right down the Bolton St end of Capel.
In Temple Bar you have Purple Box, I haven't been over to see Steve for a while but he hadn't the range of juice the other two shops have, he has more starter end liquids IMO (that may have changed in the last few months though).

Yeah everyone has had a few dud coils in their time vaping, they're more of an irritant than a wallet drain. You'll see more complaints about things like the Nautilus (and istick for that matter) because virtually everyone had them.

iStick 30 & 50 are both good choices and so are the Nautilus for ease of use, I haven't tried the subtank yet myself
The auto fire issue on the 50 was on an early batch and should you be so unlucky then the vendor you buy from will get it replaced for you no problem but I doubt there any more of the faulty unit on the market at this stage

I've been using a nautilus mini for 6 months, zero problems and not even one dud coil. Ditto for my boyfriend.

There's no vape shop in coolock, your best bet is town or palmerstown. Only thing in Coolock is vaping dog (crap) in the Mascot or VIP in Artane castle (I know it's not Coolock, but it's a short walk away!).

Battery capacity on the 30w is decent, btw. I use a 20w, same battery capacity, and get two days from a charge.

The Vape Café on Capel St. is a must visit in terms of trying out juices. The lads there are bang on and serve a very nice coffee. They've a huge selection of juices laid out and ready to be sampled.

Wish that option was there for me when I started as I ended up with a load of juice I didn't like. Ended up giving it away for free

Well there's a problem already with my subtank plus if i leave it on its side, ejuice comes out of the airhole.. Is this a manufacturer problem or am i doing something wrong..?

Edit: now i think im kinda seeing some juice coming from the glass. :(

I no nothing about the Plus but the 25mm tank had leaking coming from the glass, the O-Rings weren't thick enough,I believe they addressed that problem eventually.
There are a couple vapers here who have bought the Plus.

You will get more answers if you post your question here...

The new Ego One Mega kit has been released in the UK. It has a 2600mah battery. None of the Irish websites have it yet. The Mega available here has a 2200mah.
