Usually the car needs to be 20 years or older to qualify for classic insurance.
Again most insurance companies will require you to have a day to day car aswell, they may ask for proof of insurance on it.

Tax at 56 euro per year kicks in when the car is 30 years old.
All cars from 1980 need an NCT, pre 1980 are exempt.

What year is the car, and how old are you? This may have major implications on your insurance!

Normally daily driver car needed with full 5yr claim free no claim bonus.

Both car and driver both min 25 yr old
( additional cars could be as young as 20yrs ..ie '95 Scoobie etc could fit under concours too)

    I'm 33 and the car will most likely be a 89 90

Give First Ireland a call and ask for Cheryl Dodds. Just covered me for my daily and Classic. Best deal out here for me. No connection to company btw.

I'd second First Ireland! Got cover with them to bring a classic over from the UK when no other company would look at me. Have stayed with them since then and have always been very good for a hefty discount around renewal time. No experience of claims with them though.
