    Evening all,

Belmond's MK3 Generator Van 7601 has been painted in to the new Grand Hibernian livery at Brodie Engineering in Kilmarnock. However decals still need to be applied.

Getting exciting now. Great to have a 201 in blue again when 216 gets painted. Somehow I never saw 208 or 209 in the NIR livery growing up, but that colour really suites them.

I think it would be a awful shame if at some point in the future the train does not run down the D&SER because surely running the train down through Avocca and the Wicklow countryside and along the quay in Wexford town be a real sales pitch for rail tourists.

I'm sure they could persuade the minister for transport and tourism to allow them to utilise the waterford to rosslare line, although it would be rather annoying having to stop and operate the gates along the line.

Will 216 have NI equipment fitted from 230 or will they just use any loco for Dublin-Belfast legs?

I'd imagine 216 will get the full TPWS NIR fitout. It didn't seem that big of a deal to add it to the ICRs that are covering Enterprise diagrams.

As GM228 pointed out in the other thread, any active 201 could end up covering for 216 during exams or maintenance. If an Enterprise 201 is not free then I suppose they will have to go with the second man option.

But in saying that this train will have it's own special set of operational rules, like top and tailing, and operating in sidings with passengers on board.
