Is there a list of legal traps?

Asking on behalf of someone else. Is there a list of legal or approved animal traps for use in Ireland? Or is it descriptive legalese buried in legislation?

Does anyone have concrete up to date links? In particular in relation to tube traps but also traps in general.

    Thanks.

O.K! There is no approved traps in Ireland, but their are illegal traps! Any KILL traps designed for rat, mink, grey Squirrel, rabbit, are perfectly fine to use here! So Fenn, Bodygrip, WCS tube trap, e.t.c, are legal!

What's seen as illegal, are Gin traps, and leghold traps, because they don't kill outright, and therefore seen as cruel!

When you say tube trap, are you referring to the real deal or a piece of plastic pipe stuck in the ground?

Those things could get you in trouble! They can be seen as inhumane! They can fill with water and drown the animal, and its hard dispatch the mink humanely too!

Also, how would you release a Stoat, Pine Marten?

These things are neither a cage trap nor a kill trap, so may end you up in court! Ignorance will get us no-where lads, stay away from this out dated method!:

And don't forget cage traps, especially for mink. 'Larsens' for birds.
Also competency in targeting your species, a #4 Fenn is fine for a rat but cruel for a mink........Dave

I remember the dspca getting brought to court over the destruction of a farmers larsen trap, can't for the life of me find any info on the case though :(
