I can't seem to blend foundation properly into the inner area of my eye by the top of my nose. It seems to sit really badly and no matter what I do, it just won't blend in. I am using Bare Minerals serum foundation, but the same happened when I used the Bare Minerals mineral foundation. I just seems to have a streaky bit around that area, no matter how much I blend it in, it just seems to look really bad!

I put concealer over it too to try and blend, but it just never seems to help.

    Any advice?

What are you using to apply your foundation? Have you tried the real techniques sponge? It's really good for blending.

I use the Bare minerals brush to apply the serum foundation, but I use a softer flat foundation brush by Blank Canvas also. I had just spotted those sponges earlier and was wondering if they are good! I might just have to check them out! :)

I really recommend the Real Techniques sponge for doing that area as I find brushes can make the product look/blend streaky.

Fingers work great too but from experience I've found the sponge to work better.

that's great! I wondered how that sponge would work, but it makes sense now, so will definitely get it during the week and give it a go!

    Thanks for the advice :)

One thing I forgot to mention is I use the sponge damp as the find it works better and the product looks and lasts better too. :)

This might sound like a stupid question but do you moisturise that area and let it absorb before applying foundation? Sometimes product won’t take to the skin as well if it isn’t prepped properly.

Are you using a primer? I was reading about blending somewhere and it said that if you're using a silicone based primer with water based foundation, or vice versa, that it will cause them to not blend or to separate/go patchy with wear. So the recommendation is to wear water with water, silicone with silicone.

No I don't use a primer, I use dermalogica moisturiser and that works well with a lot of foundations so I don't know about the silicone issue.

The same thing can happen with eye shadow, I'd put concealer on my lid as it makes the shadow last longer and the colours look more intense whereas if you don't the colour doesn't look as good and won't stay. That's why I was wondering.

not in that area as its too close to my eyes, its the area right in between the eye & the nose. I don't use primer anyway, don't like it to be honest & I don't wear a lot of make-up so don't feel the need to use it.
