My sister got married two years ago and had a lovely prosecco from dunne stores priced at around €8 a bottle. When it came to buying some for my wedding I went straight to Dunnes and bought 42 bottles of the what I thought was the same prosecco as it was the only one around €8 there. However I've since realised it a different drink. The one I bought is contarini and hers was sacchetto. Has anyone tasted the contarini. Is it going to taste okay? Can't believe I made a mess of this

Open up a bottle and have a night in tasting. I Found that most prosecco tastes nice, some are nicer than others but I've never gotten one that I thought was awful. Whereas I've had plenty of terrible bottles of wine.

    Thanks.for the reply!!

I don't drink very much - I can't stand prosecco and my OH wouldn't have a clue either. We're a right pair for this job 😗

Ok but just the once whats your address and ill come over to taste some.. Must say my first reaction was just open one and taste it, but if you don't like it.. kinda confusing too how do you know your sisters one as nice if you don't like it?

On a poisitive note I would think you are grand. Is this the one with the orange label on it, I know we got some from Dunnes at Christmas and well one bottle was off but that was just luck of the draw the others were loverly. You will fine just remember to have it cold enough

Her guests were raving about it all day. I can't believe I was so stupid. Lots of people online have recommended her one also but not a mention of mind. Anyways not much I can do now except hope for the best. Maybe it'll be fine.

It's the Orange label but you're the second people to say they got a bad bottle at Christmas. Unless you mentioned that on a different form already. Slightly concerned!

Not sure I might have said it already on another thread.. We had gotten 2 bottles and one was bad the other was fine. I was chatting to a friend of ours who said he gets it all the time and loves it..

would you chance maybe asking in Dunnes could you change it, if you have the receipt for it they might allow you...Where abouts are you sorry for asking if I already have

I've had the one with the Orange label and it was lovely. Bought a few bottles in February and a couple more in March and didn't get any bad bottles.

I'm outside Carlow town. I had a look today and couldn't see the other prosecco there. I probably should have educated myself on this before rushing in and buying 42 bottles! At least your friend likes it. I feel a bit better now.

    Thank you. That is reassuring!

Sure ask in Store and see what the say...

Darn I was going to say we are even still looking for ours and well if you did want to swop if I thought it was nice I would offer.. Ill be in Dunnes in the next few days and ill pick up a bottle to taste for you (I need so many excuses) we are still looking for our own but we are wine drinkers so I think we are too fussy...

I know a friend now who didn't drink wine or presecco and they just went and picked at random and I am telling you no one was bothered, once you pop a little strawberry in the glass and it is cold you will be fine.. Ill let you know if I get a bottle

If you have jugs of fruit juices and fruit you have a mimosa bar in case it isn't great :)

Thanks for your replies. I fell a bit better now that I might not have caused a disaster. I'm sure it'll all be okay. I'm just starting to get anxious over little things now - must. remain. calm.:)
