Welcome to boards, nice to know, pour a jar of BBQ sauce over them (or king of the grill chilli sauce for 99cent), cook them in oven for 25 mins @ 180c and get stuck in, you could of course (when the weather gets better) let them cool and reheat them on the BBQ later - even nicer as the skin gets a little crispier.

Good at €2.00 and freezable !

Maybe news to you guy, but battery chickens are a feature of every retail outlet.

And better they be Irish/EU cages which are much larger than the unfortunate birds shipped over from Thailand.

I've only ever purchased lidl whole chickens, but they are Irish & the bird itself is of good quality.

The title is very clear, not sure why you clicked into the thread when you clearly dont like chicken from Lidl. In future dont bother.

Important warning for coeliacs, for some time now Ballymanor fresh chicken may be cross-contaminated by gluten as it is marked on packaging.

Not to turn this into a recipe thread but where did you get these sauces?

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Bought a pack of these last week. Coated them with pepper, salt and garlic powder

Into the slow cooker - 8 hours on low. No need to add anything, no liquids, nothing. No need to check on them either. It is also safe to leave the house.

Take out the chicken, pull the meat of the bone and discard bones and any skin still there (will leave about 600g of meat) and keep the about 100ml of rich chicken stock (will make a lovely base for a soup)

Snack on the chicken, use it for sandwiches or salads, or my favourite - freeze in portions and use it in stir fries

A lot of food for €2...

If you want the king of BBQ sauces, drop into the Bison Bar on Wellington Street. They sell their own sauce (think its €3 a bottle). Its so far ahead of anything you could possibly make (I've tried) that its worth the journey.

Don't think it's worth a 4 hour round trip for me at east! maybe if you live in Dublin it's worth it?

I'd say the poster was joking and referring to your user name perhaps ?
