Question about M8 Toll?

    I'll be driving on the M8 motorway tomorrow northbound from Cork towards Dublin.

    I want to make a quick detour into Rathcormac. I will pay the toll of €1.90 at the main big toll plaza between Junctions 17 & 16, I'd plan to leave the Motorway at Junction 16 for Rathcormac (quick 30-40mins detour max) and afterwards rejoin the Motorway again further up at Junction 15 but there is a small unmanned (I think?) toll plaza there on the ramp.

    Would this mean I'd have to pay the toll twice or would they give you some sort of token or exemption after paying it in the main toll plaza if I asked them? Otherwise Alternatively I'll have to go via Fermoy and rejoin the M8 further up at Junction 14, which wastes more time and I could possibly get stuck in traffic in Fermoy then.

    I don't want to pay the toll twice for having essentially used hardly none of the motorway.

    You sure of that? I know on the route West you can get a re-entry ticket that gives you 90 mins or so I think.

    OP, if I were you I'd get off at Watergrasshill (Junction 17) and head to Rathcormac on the old N8. Depending on the traffic in Fermoy I might get back onto the motorway and pay the toll or go through Fermoy and join there (toll free).
