Hopefully someone can tell me the best place to go for teeth whitening in Cork because Dublin's too far.

And which is the best, laser whitening or bleaching?

Tooth whitening and bleaching are words for the same process. There are a few ways to do it.
    1. "Laser" treatment where lights are used to accelerate bleach appliend to your teeth for short periods of time. These are best avoided, as they tend to be only short lasting and can cause a lot of senstivity in the teeth.
    2. At home whitening - custom gumshields are made and you put bleach inside them and apply it to your teeth at night for a week or two. This tends to be the best way.
    3. Combination systems and Deep Bleaching - the best of the best that combines a few techniques.

The best place is with a dentists. Avoid the laser type, its universally disappointing. Most dentist do bleaching.

Can you elaborate on the third one please?

    see here http://www.korwhitening.com/default.asp
Its a specific combination of techniques and products that gets better than average results. It is more expensive however and more time consuming. There are a few providers in Ireland, just make sure its the real deal.

There are many irish dentists doing Rod Kurthy's Deep bleaching technique. Google deep bleaching Ireland . If you still want the name of someone in Cork pm me and I'll give you a name.
The list of 4 names above are merely those dentists who purchase their bleaching products directly from Dr Kurthy in California. The bleach is manufactured in Germany. Most dentists get it from a European source and avoid excess shipping charges.

Any chance of the name of the one in Cork or Limerick? Googled deep bleaching Ireland and some of the before/afters pictures didn't really convince me they were worth it lol...

Those results are good, but I wouldn't think they're worth >€200...

Well everyone has the right to form their own value judgements, but you will get what you pay for. It was georgieporgy on this forum that got me into the deep bleaching technique, and its bloody spectacular. Usually its for people that have had a few 200 euro whitening procedures and have found out for themselves that if often does not work very well.

Here is a few more. I love whitening, its so conservative and inexpensive compared to the other options of veneers or crowns.

Now those results, especially the second, are very impressive. Were these done in an Irish place? I'd prefer if one of you PM'd me a recommendation of a place to go that you've personally used and had good results with rather than Googling and going with one of the first few that pops up.

i think the point i am so indelicatly making is that the op needs to temper his expectations with what treatments actually cost. if the op thinks that the result in post 9 is worth less than 200 euro (personally the best result i have achieved in a whitening resistant patient in years) i think that he will be disappointed with a .7-1.5k whitening.

Is there a dentist in Galway doing deep bleaching that you would recommend and is it suitable for smokers?
