Europe more or less is "supposed" to be christian. With thousands dying on Europe's borders have we become de de-sensitised to our own race that is suffering. 70 years ago we watched the Jews be chased out of Europe (or killed off). Today we watch thousands of Men/women children dying at our front gate.. and who speaks for them...

Which world leader went to Europe's modern day concentration camp on Lampedusa Island ??

I am literally speechless. Talk about freedom of speech. I posted photos of the horrors on Europe's border and I get taken down for spamming???

Unlike some of issues discussed in the media this is a real human rights issue and one that is being ignored. Ironically the camps are least bad part of it. The worst problems happen before people reach them. Europe needs to work much more with the Magreb and Near East countries to make headway.

I don't think people care. The Media is obsessed with other matters, like some confused guy who has a dress and a photoshopped picture. While thousands are dying.. Not a camera in sight.

I'm sure your original point has merit but you lose credibility by bringing in a totally unrelated story and displaying ignorance. Be the Christian you claim to be. Have some respect.

I never mentioned a name or wanted to target anyone. It was to highlight the hypocrisy of our media and society. It shows you where society is focused.

Sorry to use the example, put its case in point today of what is trending. No? Migrants never trend how many need to die? World leaders were all jesuischarlie and went on their government jets to paris to have a walk. Which of them went to lampedusa? Nobody cares, our out of sight out of mind society.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention I wasn't aware of it before.

And you correct about the media...they are more focused on entertaining the masses and keeping them ignorant or not focused on the real events going on in the world.

There are a lot of people in need of much help.

Do you know of any Groups that are doing something to help and aid the people?

Europe is not by constitution "Christian." That boat sailed quite some time ago - for good or for bad. The truth here is that Europe or the EU is a series of quasi-autonomous nation states governed by a powerful liberalised banking institution. Even within this new Europe, as a development of the industrial age, human beings have been reduced to units of labour and are measured individually on carefully calibrated cost/benefit points schemes. The advent of modern globalised free market economies has resulted in the complete removal of the philosophical-ethical human status from human beings. Our default socio-economic setting is that we think as individuals without regard for the community or the 'other.'

This is 'humanity' in the world in which we live, no matter how social justice and human rights organisation protest. The bank decides and the nation obeys. We all pay our taxes and mind our own business. To this system the PEOPLE dying in the Mediterranean are units of 'surplus labour' which can only be seen by the bank as a cost. In quite a clinical fashion it makes the decision, the states obey, and we shut up and mind our own business. Did I miss anything?

This situation is indeed a tragedy. It is very complex however, and I my opinion, very dangerous. I have no doubt that part of the cause of this tragedy, ISIS, will try to capitalise on these people's misfortune, by placing some of their own people on these boats with the migrants. They will then be brought, by their rescuers, right into the heart of Europe and redistributed around the EU. That potential is very real and very frightening, and there is nothing we can do about it. Our governments and aid agencies need to be very vigilant as well as being Christian.
