I applied for a plc about a month ago and I'm going to apply for another one this week I just wanted to know how likely I am to get the course I applied for, the interview isn't till after results. I've never heard of anyone not getting a plc but I'm worried I won't get accepted into any and will end up doing nothing next year, just looking for some reassurance thanks.

Impossible to answer. It depends on the course, on how many have applied, and your suitability to the course.

The one you're applying for this week may well already be full, if the interviews aren't going to be held until late August. Those interviews are often for places which may arise if people turn down offers.

IF you don't get a place, don't spend the year doing nothing. Go and do some kind of work in that area, paid or voluntary, to show that you are determined to gain experience in it. Then apply EARLY next year.

I'm not saying that will happen but you need to be prepared; you are getting into the process fairly late.

Also bear in mind that not all PLC/FE colleges interview - some will make conditional offers and confirm that offer in August once you get your Leaving Cert results. There are several options to gaining a QQI/FETAC course so don't lose heart.

    Best of luck
