Starter Motor Fuse Keeps Blowing - Opel Astra 2006

    Hi,

    I'm driving a 2006 Opel Astra.

In the last two years, the Starter Motor Fuse has blown FIVE times.

I'm just wondering, does anyone know if this is a common problem with the Astra?

I've spoken to a few mechanics and they've said its quite common in the Vectra, but not in the Astra.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Check the cabling and engine earth's. Maybe damaged/fraying.

First I heard of Astra starter motor issue's.

First I've heard of a fuse on the starter circuit. Is it on the feed to the solenoid? If it isn't frayed cables it could be a partial short in the solenoid winding causing it to draw too much current. A test with an ohm meter between the winding and earth would be my first check.
