Bringing someone elses child on holidays

    Just a quick question..If you bring someones elses child on holiday(ferry to France) do you need anything other than their passport if they are under 16? Im guessing you dont but someone mentioned that you might need a letter from their parents or something similar but Ive never heard of that..anyone here shed any light on it? Thanks

    you might need to have a letter from the child's parents or guardian giving you permission. I read of a case where grandparents were taking a grandchild on holiday to the US and there was a lot of trouble because they had no written permission from the parents.
