Hours reduced after standing up to employer.

basically the employer was only willing to schedule one employee per shift for night shifts in a petrol station. The shop closes at 10 and the staff member was expected to close alone and work a 7.5 hour shift with no break. I stood up to the boss and said it wasn't acceptable that he was willing to pay 2 staff during day shifts and 3 staff for the deli but not put extra staff on the night shift. I brought it up through the perspective of not getting our legal breaks (30 mins after 6 hours) and he responded by reducing all my shifts to only 4 hours so that he doesnt have to give me a break. Do I have any options here?

If you're there over a year, then look into it.

If not, sorry, but it's a bitter pill.

Standing up for yourself is sometimes the same as standing on your own toes. It's either that, or bite your tongue.

I chose the former. I work for myself now. Good luck
