I was actually looking for a pair earlier today. Are these pairs? So two curtains, each the width listed?

From reading hkud its the width of an individual curtain.

Cheers. Picture has a pair, and it's listed as "curtains" but sold individually, yeah?

From a bit of looking, all the half price ones seem to be single ones left in branches.

Which would imply that they're being sold in single curtains, as opposed to a pair.

I have one reserved in Jervis, one in Ilac across the road, for collection tomorrow.

Nice one OP, I've been meaning to get better curtains for my spare room for absolutely ages! Hopefully they're at least half decent......

Folks - curtains are sold in pairs only - size is per curtain, price is for the pair.

Right so, if that's the case, there's a spare pair of 117x183 stone coloured ones going in the Ilac centre tomorrow!

Would it really kill them to make it clear in their ads what's actually being sold

Even if they're only a quarter decent, a pair of curtains for 20 quid - can't beat it!

    Thanks op, home20 worked

I don't believe it. I forgot to use the code .:(

Do they really work? My current curtains don't make darkness, I'm looking for something to replace them, but I don't want the same result

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,048 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

I doubt it somehow. Unless you tape the curtains to the window frame light will always get in.

I'm hoping they're better than the paper thin linen curtains I currently have, which wouldn't be difficult. And I may just hang then behind the current ones for even better blackout-ness.

For 20 quid I won't be arguing over the quality! Thanks again OP!

    Use wider curtain poles ?

Yes, but blinds are slightly better as they can sit almost flush with the wall around the window frame. You'll still get some light leak though.

I take back most of my doubtful post earlier!

Stuck these up on their own, and they were impressively blackout. But because they aren't floor-length there was light leaking in at the sides and the bottom.

So I stuck up the old floor-length curtains in front of them on the pole, and I now have a room where you'd need a light on with the curtains pulled when the sun is shining outside.

    I'm delighted with them.

Be aware that while these work perfectly well they stink to high heaven in sunlight for the first week or two as the plastic on the backing off-gasses.

    Thanks, OP.

We haven't had as much as one visit from Kirsten Stewart since installing these curtains.

    I doubt it.

I remember seeing something about price being valid till 9/6 when I booked mine online. You only reserved them on 9th, the purchase was on the 10th.

Worth asking, but I wouldn't be holding my breath on it.....

"Price you pay is the price in store on the day"

...but they're usually pretty good with stuff like this, if you approach them.
