The Wilderness Weeks.

Now everything is done and dusted for another season, the next few weeks will be pretty boring. I'm heading off shortly to the wilderness areas of Knoydart and Assynt. No 'phones, rare internet access and only the Bride, Buddy the Lab and eagles, ospreys, otters and deer for company during the day. Willie Macleod's 'Stag's Head' shed for a drink or two at night. Is there anything we can discuss which will get the adrenaline rushing about? e.g.
    Zebo v. Fitz?
Try scoring wings v. non-try scoring wings (:D)
Henshaw / Payne to Leinster? Henshaw to Munster.
    Luke Marshall to .....?
Joe Schmidt, Leinster bias or astute judge?
Ireland's poor try scoring? Do we need a try scoring winger or is that the least important part of a wingers job?:D:D:D:D
Anto Foley. First season report. A+ or less?
Who will fill the vast POC shaped hole in Irish rugby?
Artificial pitches? Do we need them?

Doesn't hold my interest any more for some reason. It doesn't get the heart pumping and at my age I can't afford that.:D

    Ok ideas for discussion points...

Never mind the WC, who could make a name for themselves during the WC in the Pro 12 and come into contention for 2016?

I'm interested to see how Stuart McCloskey, Luke McGrath, Tadgh Furlong and Jack O'Donoghue fare next season. I'm not saying any of them will be starting in the 2016 6Ns but a good start next year for their provinces could get them into their Champions Cup sides and from there those four in particular could come under Joe's eye.

    Anyone else deserve a mention?

Zebo v. Fitz? GILROY (I'd take Fitzgerald over Zebo at the minute)
Try scoring wings v. non-try scoring wings (:D) TRY SCORING
Henshaw / Payne to Leinster? Henshaw to Munster. NO AND NO
Luke Marshall to .....? STAYING PUT
Joe Schmidt, Leinster bias or astute judge? ASTUTE JUDGE
Ireland's poor try scoring? Do we need a try scoring winger or is that the least important part of a wingers job?:D:D:D:D TRY SCORING WINGER WOULD HELP BUT NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL
Anto Foley. First season report. A+ or less? NOT MY PLACE TO JUDGE BUT DEFINITELY NOT A+!
Who will fill the vast POC shaped hole in Irish rugby? IAIN HENDERSON
Artificial pitches? Do we need them? TWO ISSUES FOR ME...COST AND ALSO ARE THEY RESPONSIBLE FOR MORE INJURIES? THEY CERTAINLY ALLOW FOR MORE OPEN RUGBY THOUGH.

The mods have decided we need a rest, so the forum is going to be closed for June and July. Nothing much happening anyway. Reopening for World Cup warm-up games in August. Thanks for your understanding lads. ;)

The next few weeks are some of my favourite in the rugby calendar. The u20s world cup never fails to entertain. This whole Pro 12 SF and Final are just the preamble to the main event!

Didn't used to follow the U20s but the enthusiasm on the forum made me check it out last year. Will definitely catch a few games this time round, not least baby blacks vs whatever you call the Irish team.

The eagles is also the USA team and to really clutch at straws, the Springboks are sometimes referred to as the South African 'deer' too.

And male and female deer share their names with James Hart and Nathan Hines...
