    Hi,

I would like to change the name on my passport and put it as Gaeilge. I have everything else in Irish but not my passport. Its not up for renewal until 2021, do I have to apply for a new passport and pay the full fee ? (I have all the documentation to show use of irish)

Same as if a lady marries, you just get a new 10 year passport.

Or you do what most people do and change it at your next renewal rather than waste money on a new passport.

OP if it's been ok for the last five years, what's the rush to change it now?
