Grew up with horses here, I actually like horses,
That's why I said a piebald that trots nicely...with a profile like that, I wouldn't like to upset the owner.
Thought that someone might know if there was a facility in the public lack of service to deal with it

Ask the local dog warden if he knows any horse pound but they are hard to get hold of .
The cops were useless here , actually turned them off the road and into one of our gardens because the gate was open !
They have no interest in getting them off land if they are safe no matter who owns them .
Its a wonder you can't catch them though they are usually good enough to handle

Did you try buying a bag of nuts and if you had some of the white tape you might be able to get him cornered that way.

Contact the Welfare Officer of your local IFA branch. He/she should know what to do legally in such circumstances.

What condition is he in OP? Is there any chance of pushing for an abandonment case?

If not, the County Council can remove the horse. If there's a chip, they'll find the owner.

I'd agree! Check if his chipped ! It could be up around his shoulder area! If so be careful cornering him! Nothing more dangerous than a horse with a chip on his shoulder

Tread carefully OP, you could be a victim of 'we know where you live' syndrome, I'd ask around locally, if you know any similar type people first. It might be easier than constantly having water pipes cut, or worse. Such types don't really like having the local pound/ guards involved. At least if you ask around they'll know that you tried to find an owner first.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

When I got rid of the ones on our out farm there was a note left in the a shed in the home place bout 2 miles away looking for the stallion ! Not much them boys don't know!

Yea..That's what I meant in post 3 that I didn't want to upset the owner.
editing to say that the owner's just after driving in to the yard...problem solved, just as well as he was getting fond of chasing sheep
