Myself and a few lads are considering a 2 week holiday to Thailand, was wondering if they are any safety concerns?

It's perfectly safe. Just don't go looking for drugs, be respectful and wear condoms.

Hot (35 degrees) and very humid. Some rain depending on where you are but not enough to spoil a holiday.

Don't drive mopeds at night if you can help it, and never after even a single drink.

Avoid jetski's and ladyboy streetwalkers or taxi drivers offering free or really cheap tours or bringing you to shops which they get backhanders for touting business. Take the usual precautions with carrying around large amounts of cash, jewellery and smartphones. Bars in Thailand usually operate a tab so when you order a drink a little bin is put in front of you and a docket with what you ordered and how much it cost is written on it. Keep an eye on this as the night goes on as it's not unheard off for extra drinks to be added in, this is known as bill padding. It's rare though but no harm to just check it regularly just in case. Stay away from drugs and if you use a motorbike which I personally wouldn't, make sure you wear a helmet.

Don't let this put you off, just be aware of the usual scams and you'll have a great time. Change you money over there too, lots of legit exchange places which offer better rates with no commission.

Went for 3 months Thailand,Burma,Laos,Cambodia and Vietnam last year during the coup and it was safest place ive been, id be more weary walking down temple bar. Scams everywhere- Best thing to remember is that strangers never come up and talk to you for no reason theres always a catch .

Also taxis half their fare then half it again, they will ride you senseless if ur not up on how much it takes to go from A to B.

Arrived in Phuket and paid 15e for a 20 min trip when i was departing same trip cost me 3e :o

In the less populated areas rent a moped !!!! had one for a week in chiang mai was best experience every. cost 2.5euro a day - Be warned lock it everywhere you go as they have a tendanccey to be robbed back by the same company to make u pay thousands for hahahha
