Thread shut by PM request?

    I started this thread
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057435134

It has now been closed, in the thread I asked for advice on a solicitor to use in my area, but never asked for legal advice,
the last post is by a moderator who it seems has closed the thread on the basis of PM recommendations? which I find a bit suspicious, It seems very much like this has been requested by someone with a vested interest, I cant see how a person simply reading this would request it. If anything ordinary posters are more inclined to want details and suggest naming and shaming, details which I hadn't posted.

At this point the organisation I have been dealing with have become much more cooperative than originally and I wonder was it because they or someone associated with them recognised what was been written on the thread? It seems their response altered over the course of the thread.

I did not identify the organisation or any specific details about them, such as location, name etc, as much as I wanted to as I knew it wouldn't be allowed and me knowing and naming someone here could not be verified to someone reading it.
As it stands the current cooperation on their part means I am getting the response off them I had wanted when I contacted them originally before I started the thread.
I took some advice from a poster about following it up with the organisation, and did this as much as I could and that was really only made possible because the organisation cooperated in responding, where that cooperation hadn't existed to start with.

That said, even any positive outcome could not be reported as the thread was closed and it seems under odd circumstances, I was as willing to report a good outcome as a bad one, and the thread may have aided me in getting the cooperation off the organisation they should have given all along.

I had not named the organisation, nor had asked for legal advice only a recommendation for a solicitor in a certain area ( and that seems the basis for closing it?), nor has any legal action been started and that I hoped was only ever a last resort due to the initial unwillingness of the organisation to respond.
I even hoped the organisation might see the thread and it might motivate them into being cooperative in a customer care sense and see the willingness of my intent to follow it up.

I enquired off the moderator that closed it as to where I could follow this up and was directed here.

I'd like the thread reopened. The replies have been useful, even replies by posters which didn't agree with my opinion or which I misinterpreted, I think have aided in helping me get on the way to a resolution.

The moderator meant for posters to PM you details of solicitors to use in your area.

    Hello cerastes.

Please have a look at this thread, in particular, the third bullet point under "What DOES this forum handle".

It would seem that you have tried to make contact with the Moderator, and you have been directed here. However, the process requires you to contact a CMod of the Motoring & Transport category before you can bring a complaint here.

The CMods of that category are humanji and The Hill Billy, so I would recommend you send a PM to both of them, and whoever is available will discuss the matter with you via PM.

If you are happy with the outcome, we will close this thread. If you are not happy with the outcome, come back here, follow the procedure I refer to above, and an Admin will take things from there.

    -Shield.
