Cheaper alternative to grazon pro ?

Think this has prob been covered but can anyone recommend a cheaper but as good version of grazon or similar broad weed killer that wont kill grass . Thanks

What weeds are you trying to kill, grazon is only for spot spraying so you'd be a long time using a litre.
Even ordinary mcpa will kill a lot of different weeds at a fraction of the price.
(even nettles if you spay them every time they come up)

It will but I don't think it's a good way to get rid of it if you're looking to graze the ground as when it dies it releases sugars making cattle want to eat it!

Ah theres spots where bramble , docks , nettles, and everything have taken over. A lot of spots to be covered so a one pass killer would be the job

Grazon pro is around €50-€55 per litre, pastor is around the same for 2lt
Pastor max spread rate is 4l per ha, 6ml per litre of water in knapsack.
Grazon max spread rate is 1.2l per ha, 6ml per litre of water in knoapsack

Thats off the bottle so ill leave the maths to you

Grazon: ave price of €52.5/litre times 1.2 litres per ha = cost per ha of €63
Pastor: ave price €69/2 litres times 4 litres per ha = cost per ha of €138

Thats a well established ragwort, that fella could be around a few years. Younger plants will be stemmy.

pretty much everything. one of the easiest weeds to kill.

MCPA probably the cheapest option

No duck slurry here gonna get a fella in with quad and wiper in a few weeks and give them a lick of gallop thistles and nettles also and stands of long seeding uneaten grass

They only flower every second year however if you mow them they become annual

Meant to get a picture of a local field of ragwort that the ragwort is mowed every year, flourishing is not the word for it.
See it mowed today and cattle still in the field.

Any clover in sward? Roughly the 6/7 wk mark as long as grass plant has 3 leaves.
We use am undersown spray glanbia/mastercrop make
if no clover go with a mix of Hurler and mcpa.

No clover,waste of seed when i know il be spraying and spreading slurry!thanks for the info!

On a similar note,how long after spraying would u lads keep cattle off ground?used hi load mircam and mcpa this day last week and tempted to put the cattle on it tomorrow. The can recomends 14days but im sure thats them really covering themselves!?
