What? Seriously, I have got to keep up to date. It was never mentioned on RTE or any of the channels.

I hear the winner was supposed to get a goat but that was obviously before it ended a draw. There's supposed to be a farmer in Piedmont willing to put forward another goat but he doesn't have a mobile phone so it's all taking a while to sort out.

Tomorrows stage has been cancelled as there is likely to be a shower or two of rain and the lads don't like getting wet so they're waiting till Monday which is supposed to be nice and sunny and there'll be a tail wind.

Wradley Biggins is coming second. Let's see how tonight's stage goes.

Was tonight's stage not cancelled because of the dark?

That could backfire yet on them. Weather can be unpredictable. I mean you can predict it but you could be wrong.

I thought that was all sorted with the uci egm sanctioning dynamo hubs for night stages?

Wiggins is notoriously dodgy at descending in the dark so supposedly he might just skip the descents even if it does cost him some time.

Yeah, good decision. Especially for the giro.

It's a shame it was cancelled because of the dark as I reckon it was the stage Froome could have snatched the purple jersey from Contador as he never looks up from his stem anyway so lack of light would have made no difference to him.

It's not as straightforward as that as Froome is still allegedly allergic to purple ever since he picked up that rhillarzhimmia disease whilst rhino hunting in Kenya. Though Brailsford is saying the new Sky doctor thinks much of it is mental.

C'mon lads. I can't sleep wondering how tonight's stage is going - and your not being helpful "derailing" the thread. My money's on Virenque.

Froome got up early today and set out at 3am. He's 4 hours ahead now.

There is a general race thread and specific stage threads, meaning this is redundant so I'm closing it
