Yea I got a quote off them of just under 1900 fitted. I heard a few times lifts were cheaper than that but I certainly cant find any.

I'm near sure that price is for a new lift. I know of a crowd in Dundalk that does lifts too but cannot for the life of m remember who they are. A wide variety of lifts too.

Another option is a forklift and a set of racks but I don't know if that would suit your application

Red.ie seems the cheapest even at 1900. Might just have to suck it up and spend the money.

Not sure about the ebay thing especially since the difference is quite small when delivery and installation is considered. Thanks for the input lads I iust didn't want to splash the cash without asking about but it looks for my purposes anyway 1900 is the best on offer at the moment.

Op out of curiosity , are you willing to fit it yourself to save yourself a few quid. ?
1900 euro incl vat is approx 1550 plus vat. delivery and fitting is surely 300 to 400 euro which would bring down the cost to 1100/1200 euro.

Another poster said his cousin got one delivered for £700 which is around 1000euro

As 993542 said above you should fit it yourself, if your well able to work on cars etc the install of the lift should be pretty simple for you, and saving that much money I'd definitely be giving it a go

Installing a 2 post lift needs to be installed with accuracy not just stand the two pillars and bolt them to the concrete.

Installing a 2 post lift needs to be installed with accuracy not just stand the two pillars and bolt them to the concrete.

Another thing to consider is the concrete under it deep enough and made from the correct strength. The fitters would know this when they drill into the floor. Us normal folk wouldn't be able to judge this.

For what you're going to be doing OP - standing under a car, probably on your own for long periods, unless you're experienced in installing this kind of stuff it'll be better to get the experts in.

One great homemade tool I saw recently was a length of heavy pipe maybe 5ft of 80mm or so Ø and 5-6mm wall.
On the bottom was a small piece of box section to stand the pipe off the floor, maybe 150mm or so in length and the top had a piece of solid rod 15-20mm Ø
With a cable come-along the pipe can be propped on the floor while the rod is inserted into the chassis or suspension and the hook from the come-along can be used to pull control arms or other parts into or out of position for fitting, old cam belts make good slings to pull things with as they don't slide easily.
Works really well as it doesn't tend to pull the car off the lift unlike floor fittings.
