storage heating/hot water heating problem

    Hi all

I live in a city centre apartment complex which has your standard issue storage heaters in the main living areas and the hot water comes from a water heater that is timed to come on between 1am to 8am.

I have always had very hot water available to me in the morning and this would last all day.

About a week ago I noticed that the temp of the water available to me was dramatically reduced to such an extend that the highest setting on the shower would only give me slightly warm water compared to scalding before.

There is no temp control for the heater and the only temp controls available are for the storage heaters.

I have tried to reheat the water during the day but this has little to no effect. I fear that one of the heating element in the tank has stopped working but I have little experience of this type of system. I have attached photo of the tank and timer control box.

Any advice or help would be great.

Make sure that the set time is correct and the unit is set for night rate. Also ensure that the on time is long enough to give enough hot water.

Perhaps the timer settings have been changed for some reason.
