nautilus coils - normal time til burn out?

I seem to be flying through my nautilus coils! Everyone I know gets 3 weeks or so from one. I get 7 days, 10 tops (days 8-10, no flavour).

So, the potential contributing factors -

Set up: 20w istick & nautilus mini
    1.8 nautilus coils.
Istick is never set higher than 7.5w, usually 7.

Highest VG content I use is 50%.

I use about 10ml of 0% 50/50 vg/pg per week, and then the coil is usually gone - no flavour, black gunk on the mesh etc.

Is this normal? I don't think it's dud coils because it's been happening for about 4 months now!

I only get about a week from them as well , that's why I took to rebuilding them myself .

I haven't had one for a while but Jesus, if I was getting 3 weeks out of a coil I would've never got in to rebuilding! I got a little over a week at max. Have you tried the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda trick? If you feck some of both in to the coil it has a little reaction and cleans them of gunk. Rinse and dry and you've got another few days out of a coils. You can do that a few times but it's not as good as rebuilding them like Jonski does.

Thank god it's not just me!

I thought I was doing something wrong because my bf, his friends, my friends and my family get 3 weeks easy out of them, using more juice than I would.

    Once it's not just me, I don't care. :D

    Hiya.
Are you 'priming' the coil? As in starting on lowest volt/watts and working up after a few burns on each few V/W. That's supposed to give your coil a bit more life, apparently!

Yup, I prime them and leave them to soak the juice in for a good half an hour each time. :)

Hmmm! I get about 2 weeks out of mine..
Then I get a longing for a fresh coil.
Can't think of anything else, maybe get them somewhere else next time! Best of luck!:-)

Life cycles of these coils, and all coils IMO is very much a piece of string theory.
Some last a week, some last 3 or 4. Some die after a day. Total cr@p shoot.
Rebuilding is the only long term thing, where changing cotton becomes weekly, but you can get up to 2 months or more out of your coils itself if you don't overheat it.
Overheating during dry burning coils tends to kill the metal for some reason, so quick little pulses are best I find.
