I'm living illegally since 2010, bought passport and PPs then got work, worked for few years then got my hours reduced so got JS allowance for 2 years while working part time, then I got caught went on trial yersteday in court and my case will be next month, accused me of fraud of 18k.
Will I ll get jail sentence or pay back the money? I was working and paying taxes then got JB all this under false name as I have no paper on my own name to work with.
Im happy to pay back all the money if they fix my immigration statue
Couldn't sleep for 48h, just thinking what they will do to me as I don't want to go to jail.
I suffer from anxiety, depression and stress and this problem is killing me.
Please if someone could help me with some words
PS: have no criminal records, been driving for 3 year without any accident and very good character. And living with my EU girlfriend for 2 years

The previous paragraphs might question that character.

If you don't have one already, you need a criminal defence solicitor.

If you have not done so already, you should tell your solicitor that you suffer from anxiety and depression.

You mention that you would be happy to pay back all of the money if this would resolve your immigration status. Immigration and naturalisation are not granted for reasons of repayment of money. That isn't one of their criteria, as far as I know, although I'd guess that criminal convictions might be among the criteria which might count against somebody. Again, I would think that you could do with legal advice in relation to your immigration status.

You want to avoid jail. Therefore, I think that you should speak to a solicitor and mention your proposal to repay the amount of money in question.

This thread is closed because it mentions an upcoming criminal trial.
