    I'm in a position to save 1000 a month, how should I split between short-term and long-term savings and what options would your recommend for both?

    What are your short and long term goals?
    Are you planning on paying for a car/wedding/house/speedboat in the short term?
    Do you have any debt?
    What does your current savings and retirement look like?

    People can probably help you with picking investment tools but only you really know how you need to allocate it.
