Why is there such a large difference between the interest rates and APR's on BOI's fixed rate mortgage table's?

    Hi NewCorkLad,

Thanks for getting in touch with here on Boards.ie

APR is the total cost of credit a borrower pays, expressed as an annual percentage of the amount of credit given. APR is useful for comparing costs between different loans and different lenders.

A variable interest rate is subject to change, and will rise and fall over the term of the mortgage. This means that the repayment may change throughout the mortgage term.

A fixed rate mortgage loan has a rate fixed for a specified period of time. This means that the monthly repayment amount will remain the same during the fixed period.

Rates can vary depending on a number of factors some of which include the amount of your loan relative to the property value and whether you are choosing a fixed or variable rate.

You can speak to one of our mortgage advisers by calling 0818 200 339 or you can request a call back here. They will be happy to discuss this further with you.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks
    Nicola

    Hi BOI,

Are there any circumstances whereby someone in negative equity with another lender could avail of the new fixed rates under a switch mortgage ?
