BMW F11 mechanic around dunboyne area

    hi folks , dad is looking for trustworthy bmw mechanic around dunboyne area or near as possible to do a service, , he is sick of paying mad money for services at main dealers... any recommendations please ? also, is the timing belt issue sorted on his model ?

    What engine is it? No a clue myself about the belt issue just for others.

    Will it effect the warranty going non main-dealer?

    These cars are relatively easy to service so a decent independent will be just fine. Just make sure the correct oil is used. BMW LL04. Recommended is Castrol Edge 5w-30.

    There is no timing belt, but there is a chain. To answer your question, you'll have to specify what engine and what year the car is. There are other threads on boards on this very topic as it relates to the N47 engine.

    Maybe highlight what year and what engine of you want specific info related to the chain.

    Am I right in saying its a 30d?
