    HI All
I have a 06 ZafiraB which is giving an intermitant immobiliser fault.
Just wondering if I replace the Immobiliser Transponder around the barrel will I have to get it coded with the keys or is a straight swop out.
    Cheers

Intermittent Immobiliser fault on a zafira b or astra h is most likely a software issue. There is an update for the CIM (steering column module) that will fix it. Trouble codes P1614 P1616 would be a sign, and intermittent no start/no crank.

I will check the codes see what shows up.
If I swap out the transponder ring, I presume I will have to change to chip in the key fob also..

    Thanks

To swap the key reader on a zafira b you would have to change the whole ignition switch housing. It is simply a reader and not programmed but have never seen one go faulty. to change this you need to remove the airbag steering wheel and CIM. A simple check would be to sit in to the car, put your feet on the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal and hold both down. while holding them down switch the ignition on but do not start the car. watch the mileage display and it will flash any codes in the engine to you. the first 4 digits are the standard P code and the last 2 digits are the symptom byte. so you should see 1616 and 1614. if you have these codes dont waste any money buying any parts as the only way you will fix it is update your CIM.

    Hey Lucifer,
Checked the codes. Its coming up with 161450 and 161600.
Does it have to go to Main Dealer for the update, might try my local guy see if he can do it.
    Cheers

Either an opel dealer or specialist will be the only option.
