10sp to 11sp cassette

    hi guys,I have a spare giant P-SL0 wheel which used to have a shimano 105 10sp casette on it,my new bike has the 11 speed ultegra 6800 and im wondering can i put an 11 speed cassette on to the giant wheel and use it as a turbo wheel. will the 11 speed cassette fit on to the giant P-SL0 hub. cheers

    According to Giant's own product page, the rear wheel is 9-11 speed compatible. Of course if there are different generations and yours is an old one then YMMV, but several third-party wheel makers (e.g. mavic) were making 11-speed compatible hubs a good while before 11-speed was available!

    thanks,I have had a 9 speed on it when I had a triple sora on a defy and a 10 speed on 105 madone so your probably right,i will ask the question on crc or wiggle before I purchase the cassette,cheers

    Did you use a spacer with the 10spd cassette? If yes then 11spd cassette will fit. If not then possibly 10spd only.

    Edit: you already have an 11spd cassette, why not try and fit it to be absolutely sure. No one on wiggle or CRC or any other website will be able to tell you.

    yes I was going to change out the cassette to see if it works but got bogged down with a broken immersion heater which im trying to remove at present,will give the cassette a bash in the morning,thanks
