Even by Irish standards they are very high quotes for someone your age. How many companies did you try?
They look like 'we don't want your business' quotes.

    They absolutely crazy prices

I for my insurance as a learner at 19 for €2200 a couple of years ago

    Edit:

Btw I am 23 now, I have my license just under 4 years and paid my premium only last friday for €1,077

Shop around, ring around, try FBD.

A user on the motors forum, 38, Learner Permit, first time driver etc etc got cover for 400 in the last week.

Essentially, forget online systems. And ring around to brokers and insurance companies.

That's great  I'm 33 with full NCD driving donkeys years and the best I can get is about €700 in a cheap 1.2

I work with a guy from Hungary in his 40s who just finished his EDT lessons and is learning for the first time. The best he could get was about €1,500 3rd party fire and theft in the last few weeks. The car is a 1.3 Mazda 323.

Mine is always around the €380 mark (fully comp), I am 35 and have my full license two years. I have full no claims as well. Car is a 1.4l.

That is really expensive. Mine was 1150 as a learner, 28, 1.2l with less than a year's named driver experience. Has come down significantly since I passed my test.

What was the car a Lamborghini and how is third party fire and theft cheaper then third party. Do you live in the biggest crime spot in Dublin?

Was quoted €1,400 from Axa for a 1.4l. 25 years old, learner permit, lessons still ongoing. When I finish my lessons I can get 400 off, too. (ISM)

Got it through the AA with Allianz.

My mum's in her early 70s on a learner permit with 2 yrs named driving experience - cheapest was Axa through the AA for around €975. Liberty and Aviva wanted €3k+ each. FBD wouldn't touch her at all. That's in a 1.2 manual.

Wow I'd assume a woman her age would be 300-400.

Not as a learner unfortunately. Went through 15+ insurers and brokers and the AA was the only one under €1k.

1.5l Petrol, got full comp while learner for 2000€ , got another 400€ after finishing the 12 hours EDT ( ISM offer ) , was paying a little over 190€ per month, now 120€ and after getting the full license I understood it can go to like 60€ per month.

    What does this mean?

Funny how I was quoted €1,400 from AXA online and then when I tried them again thing last night I was quoted €3,500 and the car was a bloody 1.0 fiesta. Cheaper to insure a 1.4 focus than it is to insure a 1.0 fiesta.:confused:

I got insured with its for women for 1200 fully comp on a 1.2 litre. I will have my provisional a year on the 21st of this month and I'm 32. The quote I had before that was 2250!

its4women.ie and 25plus.ie offer much cheaper premiums but from the online reviews their customer service is shocking. They are apparently brokers for AIG but reviews claim they've lost documents, failed to provide tax discs on time and are impossible to talk to on the phone!! One review also suggested that they charge E50+ for something as simple as changing address on the policy. The writer seemed to imply that this had nothing to do with moving to a more dangerous area, it was just an admin fee!! I used quotes from these websites to get other more traditional insurance companies down in price. They are apparently brokers for AIG but the reviews are insane, with people claiming they lost documents!!

I'm driving 6 years on a full license with 2 year NCB and no penalty points. All quotes were around 1200. I got the AA down to 800, and 25plus is offering 625. I'm really not sure if theyre worth the discount.
