Advice please

Hey all, I didn't see an obvious place to put this request so apologies for the new thread.
I'm currently on the lookout for a particular type of watch which will hopefully be a fathers day present. I have two watches with black faces so I'm looking for a watch with a brown strap and a white face. My budget will be under 500.
Currently I am liking the look of this Tissot

I've seen it for sale at a little under 400.
With that in mind can anybody recommend something else along those lines, possibly even simpler. There's a longines in the window of Keanes in Limerick that has me salivating but at 3000 it's a dream for the moment.

nice watch, my only concern and I guess I'd have to see it on the wrist is would the hands be too hard to see to tell the time at a glance...they look to be lost in the dial

The Visodate is more of a contrast between dial & hands

Good point, I hadn't thought of or noticed that, perhaps it's more of an issue in the photo than in reality.
That Visodate is a lovely watch also.
Are Tissot the best in this price range? I have a lovely Tissot already and always thought they look quite classy for the money.

Edit - check out Hamilton as well. From the same family of companies as Tissot. I think they're marketed at the same level as Tissot, but personally I think they're slightly better finished.

I know you said a brown strap, but a nice leather brown strap can be bought for 20-30 quid, so don't let that rule a watch out for you.

Beautiful watch, but I am insistent on a brown leather strap, doesn't appear to be an option with that?

They are great watches, but they're definitely sporty watches rather than dressy.

You could ask them if they'll ship it with a brown strap instead if you like it.

If you're tempted by one of these this site is probably better as it avoids any risk of import duties etc and the prices are a much the same given the exchange rate.

Update on my own situation (op here)
I've decided against getting a new watch for the moment after all. I just can't get the Longines out of my head and if I get another mid price watch I'll never end up getting one that I will treasure. I'm waiting for a slice of fortune with work or whatever and when it happens I'm gonna reward myself with the Longines that I'm lusting after, could be a few years but what the hell, I'll be dead a long time

Honestly that photo from the website doesn't do it justice, the strap looks much softer and is slightly lighter in colour, it is an awesome looking watch.
