    Point is you can't tell if the effect is caused by placebo or carbs being ingested via the gums. Maybe repeat the experiment with a similar-tasting placebo non-carb drink?

    A sample size of 9 is not conclusive, and they didnt seem to have a control where some participants took nothing.

    according to this the reasercher argue that the carbs in the mouth trigger a response in the brain ( not ingstion) .
    I beleive they had a control group ( of course smple of 14 people is small)
    I train faster if i have ice cream in the fritch ... ;-)
