    Hi,

Can someone please help me? I'm filling out the Assessable Spouse Election Form to submit to Revenue- my other half and I were married April 2014- and I'm unsure what option I should be selecting to ensure we're both treated relatively equitably by Revenue.

The options I'm dithering between are 1) split the credits between us equally or 2) have the transferable tax credits and standard rate band allocated to the assessable spouse. I don't think the other options are all that applicable.

I'm earning approx. 70k per annum, he's on around 65k but probably closer to 70k himself when OT etc is factored in. So maybe just split everything equally?

    Thanks,
    TW

Split everything 50/50. As both of you are using up all your credits and rate bands at the moment it will make no difference to you.
