    Hiya

I'm not sure if there has been a thread about this already or if this is allowed but here it goes.
    http://www.thejournal.ie/sebastian-christmas-2128908-May2015/
    http://www.rte.ie/radio1/ray/

Sebastian is a 4 year old cancer sufferer from Co. Tipperary. His family are trying to make Christmas come early for him as he is not expected to live longer than a few more weeks, and at only 4 years old, he has only enjoyed a handful of Christmases.
His family have appealed to anyone who can donate anything to make Christmas come early. They are not looking for money, they are more so looking for their child to experience Christmas with reindeer, a sleigh, Santa, Christmas trees, that sort of thing.
As an example of what has been offered so far:
Possibly the standout example of kindness is an anonymous man arranging and then offering to transport Sebastian to Hamleys toy store in Dundrum, Dublin via helicopter and having the shop closed specifically so the little guy can have the place to himself for an hour.

I have seen the boards community pull together many times before and am posting this here in case there is anybody on here who might be able to make Sebastian's last Christmas extra special.

(If anybody would like to donate money, the family have suggested making a donation to registered Children’s Cancer Charities such Aoibheanns Pink Tie – text AOIBHEANN to 50300 to donate €2.)

The flood of offers this family got has been amazing. Makes ya proud to be Irish, and puts all the other stuff we moan about well into perspective.

That is brilliant! Ah Jaysus we're a great little country!
Hope Sebastian has the best day of his life on Saturday :)

Just to note this number is incorrect... it kept failing on me.

    it should be 50300.

If anyone lives here in the Ballina/ Killaloe area, please put up some Christmas lights.

Tip- don't read the thread about sad songs and then read this.

Bawling at my desk here in Toronto- both at how bloody unfair Sebastian's situation is and at how great people are being at making his short time magical. Fair play, folks.

I don't live in the Tipp area but I will donate some money. I will try to remember to do so every time I top up my phone. I hope Sebastian has the best and most lovely and happy Christmas ever:)

If anyone has elves costumes(I know, who doesn't? :D)but maybe we could organise hire of such and a few boardsies could be elves for a day.
Is this a thing they would want?

From what I've read and heard, the party is for the family, so I don't suppose a load of strangers arriving on would be a good idea. It's so sad...

Everyone in the twin towns have been asked to put up lights, which we will, but Sebastian is a very sick little boy and I suppose might not be able to go to see them. He'll be very busy with Santa calling!!

They wouldn't be strangers, they'd be Elves and they are hard to come by this time of year considering its their hibernation time :-)
Was just an idea though, as I said I didnt know what would be wanted.

Its a brilliant idea :) I'm not in a position to say what the family want. I'm just reading and hearing. As I said, lights...lots of lights hopefully will be bright over the weekend.

    Where can we donate?

I was just a thought. I'd have been willing to hire the costume(€20 which seems reasonable!) and drive the 4 hours to do it if it was something that would add to his day.
    He's worth it :)

This story has touched me, something that doesn't happen often.

The upsetting part is that he's an innocent little child and too young to understand.

If Jesus ever appears to me, I'll sacrifice my life for this child.

Even when you know something is coming it does not make it easier for the family.

    So small and sweet.

It's so sad. It's not fair.

    Best wished to his family.

    RIP.
