Long wooden strips to attach a garden windbreak to, how much can I expect to pay?

I have a fence along the back of my garden which I want to put mesh/windbreak on, however I would like to nail thin strips of wood between the posts at top and bottom so that the mesh is stapled on all 4 sides (there are no horizontal wooden surfaces).

    Something like 2" x 1", and I would need about 40m I think.

How much is this likely to cost?

I got some treated 2x1 from Goodwins a few weeks ago.

It was around €2.50 for a 4 or 5 metre length.

    Got a quote today from a local hardware supplier, 2" x 1.5" treated, €3.15 for 16ft length.
