Puncture Repair Kit

    Hi all,

This probably doesn't deserve it's own thread but just looking for some advice on a puncture repair kit.

I want to get one of those under saddle bags for the longer journeys but can't seem to find a full kit - i.e. puncture repair tools already packed into the bag.

Does anyone know where I could pick up one of these. All I've seen on the internet is the separate components, which is a bit surprising since I would have thought this is what they are designed for.
I could obviously buy all the components separate but as I'm quite new to this, an inclusive pack would be ideal.

    Thanks in advance.

What components have you in mind, exactly? Most posters on here would not usually use a puncture repair kit (i.e. a means of patching a hole) on the roadside (and in some cases ever!), instead electing to replace the tube, and either repair later, or just buy a new tube.

Either way, you will need tyre levers, a means of inflation (pump and/or CO2) and either a repair kit or spare tube(s), but recommendations on a kit will depend on your planned use.

Sorry, yes that was what I mean. With tubes etc. instead of patching up a puncture. I saw an old ad a couple of weeks on adverts advertising this but was already sold.
For inflation, I realise this would probably not fit in the bag and would need to be bought on its own.

So just really looking for an under saddle bag with tubes and a couple of tools - if that exists?

This is probably the smallest option meeting the requirement of levers, bag and 1 tube: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ie/en/continental-tube-bag-with-tube-and-tyre-levers/rp-prod39760

If you need a multitool as well, then you need a bigger bag. Something like this would give you everything other than inflation, including the multi tool

RE inflation, you're probably better off doing that, especially if you go or a pump rather than CO2, as most pumps you'd get in a kit like that would probably be a bit crap!

    That's perfect! Thanks very much.

Lidl or Aldi did one of these a while back, you might find one hanging around. Did not include pump but did include multi tool and tyre levers.

If you buy a sufficiently long bag you can fit a small pump in it. A CO2 cartridge to inflate would likely fit in a smaller bag, but a pump is safer imo.

I have a topeak bag with the pump, 2 tubes, tyre levers and a few other bits and bobs in it. Those three are the essentials.

I don't normally bother with a multi tool in the bag anymore, just keep it in the shed. A tenner + 2 paracetemol + a spare house key + an allen key + batteries (to cover at least one of my lights) are the other things I keep in it, just in case. Any adjustments requiring more tools than that can generally wait until you get home.
