NATIONAL ROADS AUTHORITY N.R.A how do you deal with them

I have submitted a planning application to the council and had no problems(objects) from anyone but the NRA and there object has no logic. If they were to listen to my side of the building process they would have to see why. However I don't know how to deal with them any idea's.
They are not willing to let the build go ahead because I would be coming out on to the main road all of which is not true as I will be coming out on to an old by road/lane that will then lead on the main road N80.
Anyway any help would be great been to local TD and no good and the architect seams clueless as to their logic in objecting.

    i know the n80 well

perhaps they are worried that where you enter the N80 is unsafe and has inadequate sighlines?

The daft thing about the exit is that I have a clear view of at least a mile no obstruction from others seeing me or I them and I am not driving out into a yellow box or lines in the road that would not be suitable to an exit.

The logic they have makes not an ounce of logic as if it were to be applied to all builds there would not be an estate in the country as all estates come out on to a dive/green and then on to a main road...

It defies logic and I don't know who to contact to get the NRA to see logic so any help would be a blessing

To be fair you need professional input to decipher this objection.

True but I had hoped that others would have had experience in dealings with the NRA having built their own homes and how they addressed the situation as I have already got architect and a TD’s opinion. The architect being the one whom I had draw up the plans of the house.

do any other houses properties use the old by-road/lane?, or is only access to fields. if no other houses use it i would think it would be considered the same as trying to get your driveway access onto the main road

Seven other houses use it as it.

It might be worth looking at improvement measures that you could do to mitigate the additional risk your development will pose in the junction with the national road. It's sounds like the existing junction may below par in terms of safety. Could you get permission from the relevant landowners to carry out improvement works at the junction, i.e. improve sight lines?
