Jurassic World

Sigh...... Love the Jurassic park series of movies. Fair enough, 3rd one was kinda pants but still watchable. I have a great fear that Hollywood will ruin the **** out of it.
    Stuff I'm fine with:
    1. Chris Pratt as male lead although I'd drop him like a hot **** for Dr.Grant
    2. Genetic clever hybrid dino as the main plot point
    3. Dinosaurs are impervious to bullets (Example: Scene from the 2nd film where the rex found everyone sleeping outside and 40+ guys, all armed just ran instead of shooting it. An SMG is not the ideal way to kill an elephant but I assume if you hose the ****er from 10 yards it'll probably die or piss off. Maybe comparing large mammals to large lizards isn't a fair comparison but I'm not a zoologist so **** it.

    Stuff I'm not fine with:
    1. Chris Pratt's attack raptors, this reeks of cheese....
    2. I seen a clip of a dino petting zoo with kids running around hugging dinosaurs... reeked badly of cheesy ****

Anyway... who shares my fear about this and any other beloved movies? Still cringe thinking about the starship troopers sequels.... No **** that, they just don't exist.

No such fears for me. I just get on with the real world.

I have the same concerns. I just wished from the get-go they had a policy of doing as much practical effects as possible. You can be sure they didn't.

Script seems to have gone through a lot of rewrites, which doesn't bode well. Still, should be good on a big screen.

Nevermind Jurassic Park, where's my Dino-Riders movie?

I remember watching the first one, terrified and enthralled in one go, shaking with anticipation on my dads knee when then raptors were marauding through the kitchens. I could watch that movie a hundred times and love it every time.

Also sparked a collection of model dinosaurs that the Smithsonian would be proud to call their own.

ETA: Don't know how the thumbs down got there!

The remakes of Total Recall, RoboCop and the upcoming Terminator "reboot". All films no-one asked for or needed!

I'm dreading the day they decide to "reboot" the original Predator... the AvP spin-offs were bad enough!

regardless of plot or content, terrible CGI will ruin it, as can be easily seen in the trailer.
The original heavily relied on animations and model as well as CGI and isn't nearly as dated looking as a lot of newer CGI fests

First thing I thought when I saw the trailer in the cinema the other day just how bad the CGI was. The movie itself looks terrible but that CGI is ****.

Yeah, CGI is best used sparingly, it shouldn't be the default for special fx. I haven't seen the Mad Max reboot yet but I heard it uses 'physical' fx that work well.

I didn't think cyborgs aged that badly.

Whoever decided Adrien Brody would make an acceptable action hero deserves a smack to the head.

The Mad Max reboot invalidates your point OP.

I was worried by that trailer too. Quick confusing cuts, no hint of a plot and a guitar that shoots fire.
Yet the result is one of the best movies I've seen in years.
