    Hi Lads

I am looking to buy an accord , I hear good things about them and think they look great.
Whilst looking them up I came across http://allabouthonda.com/honda-discontinuing-accord-euro/ .

What does this mean in the long run for owning the car ?
Will repairs and services be more expensive because the parts are not manufactured anymore ?
Will the value of the car be greater or less ?

    Thanks

I wouldn't worry about parts, Honda will still supply body panels for a good 10 years or more after final sales. The engine components will be shared across other Honda engines so there will also be plenty of supply. Any car when they stop making the current model suffers the same fate regardless of whether a new model with same name takes its place or not. If the current car is reliable they could hold their value better than similar cars as no others are available once final production run is complete.

Resale values will always take a hit when a model is discontinued. Parts are normally available up to 10 years after the model is discontinued or replaced with a newer one. Honda servicing has always been on the pricey side but the plus side is that due their good reputation for reliability it balances itself out over the duration of ownership.

I'm not sure About resale values suffering that much. Unless there is a direct replacement introduced they should be fine.
