    Hi,
A friend of mines is looking for a jeep for some farm work, he has come across a Pajero 3.2 auto triptronic, I was wondering if this would be suitable for towning say a couple of cattle or taking medium loads of turf out of bog and maybe some light off roading, or is it completely unsuitable ????

Changed to an auto 3.2 and I'll never get a manual again. No contest. Better drive all round and unless rock climbing is in his off roading vocabulary then leave the manual at home. No dmf to replace either ;)

Same. Id never go back to manual either. Auto jeep is superb for towing.

great I had assumed that the auto box would be too weak for heavy loads , but that great news thanks

edit how about engine breaking with a load on ??? is there any issues , might be stupid question but im only used to driving 90 autos that were sketchy at best on engine retardation or lack of

Its not a problem. Just stick it into manual mode and its fine.

not sure about the newer pajero's but most modern 4x4 autos are great for towing and have a hold button for engine braking

The 3.2 pajero was originally designed to be auto. If I'm towing big loads I tend to use the Tiptronic. Best of both worlds really. Never want a work vehicle with a dmf again. Just make sure the 4WD is working correctly, ie: engages correctly (lights in dash)
