    Hi folks,

Being thinking about a double din unit for a while in my car. Usual expenses involved like a new fascia and steering wheel controls.. probably up to 200 euro before starting at all...

Anyone going for the new pioneer android auto units

    Looking at this one:

    http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-radios-car-stereos/pioneer-avh-x8700bt-car-stereo-with-apple-carplay-and-android-auto#tab3

    but they are pricey

I suppose my conundrum is adding 800 euro worth of kit to the car, if i keep it for another 2 years.. will it add any value to my trade in price? I'm guessing not a lot :(

On the flip side i can just use my phone in a holder and it plays music etc via bluetooth to the existing radio.. and i have google maps.. for online usage and sygic for offline maps which work pretty good...

    Cheers,
    Mick

I recently (today!) started looking at aftermarket head units when I saw a news article about Android Auto.
IMO all the android auto head units on the market are way over priced at the moment and will come down as soon as more players come.

Right now, I'd be more inclined to buy a head unit with an android os built in. I have a Mk IV Mondeo and I must say, I am very tempted with this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Android-2007-2011-2008-2010-Bluetooth-Steering/dp/B00SIZ2R9Q/

I would say if you're going down this route, you just have to think of it as something that you will take out of the car when it comes to sell. Things like this will make a car easier to sell, but wont necessarily earn more cash to be honest.

    Cool yoke, but mad money!
