Edit: Please ignore this post - refers to the wrong model

Also available from Amazon for £130, free postage. Probably works out to be a little over €185 when you add on Irish VAT.

(Marketplace sellers on Amazon are a few pence cheaper, but I like Amazon's return policies)

    +1

Amazon refunded me in full when the power button failed on mine.

That's not the 4g version. The 4g version is here , works out over €200.

Thanks, post corrected. It's not the first time I've gotten confused about the various models of Moto G.

I got one for €200 last month before the all sold out.

Great phone. Highly recommend, though it will keep trying to update to the newest version of Android. I've heard it's a mess of an update by most reports, so I've been denying all attempts to upgrade until it's sorted.

I'm running the latest version of android on the first version of this phone (non 4g).

It's brutal, anyone has complete control over the phone's brightness, volume, bluetooth, wifi etc while the phone is locked. You can even turn the phone off from the lock screen.

Vibrate has been removed, only option is volume on or silent.

Other than the above however it functions as it did before and I've not had any trouble with battery life like some people report.

€200 for the 4g version is an excellent price, even without the ability to expand the memory (you can with that model) it's an excellent phone. I also highly recommend picking up the official flip case, it ****s with the compass in it (not permanent, returns to normal when case is off) but other than that it's excellent... lets you lock and unlock by opening and closing the screen.

This is for the 5" screen model which has better camera 8mp, good deal

Currently a €10 Argos voucher with this as well (as you spend over €100)...

Says on the argos site it has a micro sd slot, this not the case?

Only the old moto G had no SD slot

Got one at this price a few months back, wouldn't recommend it. Phone is horribly slow, even after updates.

Its sloe if you don't factory reset it. If you know what you're doing, you can have it working fine.

could you elaborate on that please.
my phone is locking up every now and again

I'm guessing you got it with KitKat and upgraded to lollipop? If you factory reset it, it'll run perfectly again. Plenty of guides if you google it.

Plenty showing that initially the performance improves after a factory reset, but it deteriorates again. You can't practically do factory resets regularly.

I read recently that disabling Google Now on Lollipop can solve battery draining.
    Maybe worth a try?

Sorry, meant that even if you couldn't expand the memory (you can) it would still be a good deal in comparison to my non 4g model.

I found that switching to Nova Launcher instead of using the stock google launcher sped it up quite nicely.

Great phone, wish it had more than 1GB ram though.

I have the original moto g running on lollipop with no problems. At first the battery was running out pretty quickly, but it was being caused by the email app. I disabled that, and set the gmail app to retrieve my yahoo mail, and its been perfect since.

I probably would pull the trigger if it'd more than 1GB ram.

No, I don't think any bricks and mortar stores in Ireland sell dual sim phones

Argos did sell the 5" Dual SIM before the 4G model.
